How Jackpots Work
Parimutuel vs Fixed Odds
SA Lotto, PowerBall, and Daily Lotto are parimutuel games — the prize pool comes from ticket sales. A percentage of every ticket sold goes into the prize fund. If no one wins the jackpot, it rolls over to the next draw, growing the prize pool.
Rollover Caps
Both SA Lotto and PowerBall have rollover limits. After a certain number of rollovers (set by Ithuba), the jackpot must be won. If no ticket matches all numbers, the prize "rolls down" to the next division with winners. This prevents jackpots from growing indefinitely.

- Daily Lotto: No fixed minimum — pari-mutuel from day 1
Claiming Jackpots
- Prizes up to R50,000: Any licensed retailer
