PowerBall Plus vs PowerBall XTRA: What's the Difference?
PowerBall has two add-on options: PowerBall Plus and PowerBall XTRA. Both cost R5 extra, but they do completely different things. Here's how to choose.
PowerBall Plus
PowerBall Plus enters the same 5+1 numbers into a separate draw at 21:00 SAST on Tuesday and Friday. The jackpot is guaranteed at R10 million minimum. It's essentially a second PowerBall game with the same odds.
PowerBall XTRA
PowerBall XTRA doesn't give you a second draw. Instead, it multiplies all non-jackpot prizes by 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x. The multiplier is randomly assigned when you buy your ticket. If you win Division 2 and have a 3x XTRA, your prize triples.
Which should you choose?
- Choose PowerBall Plus if you want more chances to win the jackpot
- Choose PowerBall XTRA if you want bigger secondary prizes
- PowerBall Plus is better for jackpot chasers
- PowerBall XTRA is better for players who frequently match 3+ numbers
- You can add both to the same ticket for R10 extra
